  The only positive thing about our entire experience with Our Children’s House was the therapist we saw, Abbey. She was very good at what she did and was able to get results quickly for my daughter. I would give her a 5. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was awful. First, the scheduling. We had to drive from Keller to Plano during rush hour because they don’t do evaluations at Grapevine. After our evaluation it took a month for someone to call me to actually schedule therapy sessions and then they had only middle of the day on school days available. When you are doing repetitive appointments it’s hard to have your child miss that much school. Also, they don’t see patients on Fridays which is our only day we don’t attend school. They were supposed to call me when they had something in the afternoon. About a week later I started getting calls saying because I had not scheduled any therapy appointments, our record was going to be archived. WAIT? I am on a waiting list for an appointment that isn’t smack in the middle of the day! Trying to get ahold of someone that knows what is going on is ridiculous. One day I spent over 2 hours trying to find someone who could help me either get something scheduled or stop our record from being archived since we were on a waiting list. They were unable to find our initial evaluation in the system so know one I talked to that day could help me. Finally I got someone who was able to get us in at Grapevine on Tuesday’s at 3:30. We did that for a few weeks. We were in an accident one day on our way there and I called and had to leave a message (since it’s impossible to get a Human) that we were not going to make it. The next week we showed up for our appointment and were told the therapist had to leave for an emergency. Totally understandable, however a call would have been nice. I was told they left me a message....I never got a message. The next week was Halloween so I cancelled that appointment because we had plans (hello, she is 6). Then this week I had to cancel again because we have strep. I was told since I cancelled 4 weeks in a row I was taken off the schedule. WAIT....technically we have cancelled 2 weeks in a row. The other week was the therapist leaving and no one telling me until I got there. I didn’t realize you would prefer I bring in a child that has strep and subject the rest of your office and patients to that. In addition, when I tried to pay my bill I was told they didn’t have insurance information for me sleepover they couldn’t tell me how much I owed. WHAT? I have several EOB’s showing you have filed claims on my insurance and I owe a copay!!? It just seems that no one has any idea what is going on from an administration stand point. There is a huge huge disconnect between offices, scheduling, billing, etc. We have left the practice and will be doing therapy with another group that seems to be much more on top of what they are doing when it comes to administrative things. It’s sad because they have some very talented therapists, but the way they run their business is completely ridiculous.
